Laptop health tips
Friday 13th August at 09:40 am by Sam FrancisI love my laptop and not suprisingly, I use it alot. I know lots of business users like me that have laptops are sensible and have desk solutions with external keyboard/mouse and big screen that is normally sat on some form of raised platform so that they are not stooping to look at it - I have this setup both at work and at home. Goody for you I hear you cry but importantly, I do this to avoid aches and pains so what should you be thinking about if you use your laptop alot?
Tips for laptop users
- While carrying the laptop make sure you don't put the whole weight on one shoulder - backpacks are good for this
- Your chair should be very comfortable with back support.
- Position your laptop in such a way that you don't bend your neck to see the screen.
- Place the mouse in the same height as your laptop.
- Don't work for long hours. Take short breaks in between your work - this is not just for lorry drivers.
- Now don't laugh but drink lots of water - drinking plenty of water keeps the discs in your back lubricated and healthy.
- If you suffer from neck and shoulder pain, headaches at the top of your head, wrist pain or tingling in your fingers, particularly in your thumb, please consult your doctor as this could takes it toll in years to come.
