Laptop Recycling

One of the unerring passions of our team is recycling and reducing waste. Our engineers are dedicated to making sure we waste as little as possible in any given stage in a laptop repair or replacement process. Additionally, sometimes a laptop jack repair or other fix isn't enough, and the machine simply won't function. If a laptop has reached its end of life, it gets stripped down and recycled by its relevant parts.

Aside from the re-usable parts – there are, however, a number of parts in any laptop that are toxic to the environment. These parts cannot simply be thrown away and are covered by the WEEE Directive – a strict piece of legislation specifically covering disposal of toxic goods. This means that we uphold our policy of "O% Landfill"

What is the WEEE Directive?

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) came into force in January 2007. The WEEE Directive aims to both reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment being produced and to encourage everyone to reduce, reuse and recycle the electrical goods that are already in the marketplace.

What can we do for you?

As standard, we offer the following services FREE OF CHARGE;

    • Data destruction – all storage devices have their data securely deleted using a low level format
    • Testing and Sorting – our technicians separate re-useable and obsolete/faulty equipment
    • Co-ordinate with recycling partner – our partner collects the obsolete equipment periodically
    • Complete asset listing - presenting a list of every item that has been recycled including client's asset tags etc
    • Certification – Our partner supplies us with Data Destruction and WEEE adherence Certificates that we keep on file as per the directive

Alongside these we have also set up a separate collection service for dead batteries. Once a month we will take any dead batteries away and recycle them appropriately.
